Digital X-Rays

A Clearer Picture, With Far Less Radiation

Some of the most important things happening in your child’s mouth are the ones we can’t see with the naked eye. Digital X-rays let us catch small issues early, before they turn into bigger ones, using a fraction of the radiation of traditional film.

What they are

Digital radiographs are modern dental X-rays that produce instant, high-resolution images on a screen. They help us spot cavities between teeth, check how permanent teeth are developing, and monitor growth in a way a visual exam alone can’t.

Are they safe?

Yes. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than the older film kind, and we only take them when they’re genuinely helpful for your child’s care. We also use protective measures every time. Your child’s safety is always the priority. In addition, we take into account the size of the child as opposed to a pre-set setting when taking radiographs.

What to expect

It’s quick and completely painless. Your child bites down gently on a small sensor, and the image appears on our screen almost instantly. We’ll often show you what we’re seeing so you understand exactly what’s going on with your child’s teeth.
